Genre: Electronic, Ambient | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Rising High Records (RSN CD22)

This album is a rare classic ambient masterpiece that could be compared to Flying High and Global Chillage in that it has a flow to the whole album so that each of the tracks although individual are joined together to make a wonderful journey through a unique ambient landscape. There is a greater use of eastern-style vocals and effects than used by The Irresistible Force though and has the feeling more of a group effort rather than an individual one. A lot of the electronic keyboard style is very similar and marks a style that was prevalent among a great era of ambient music that was at a peak in the early 90s.

Stylistically, the album is by far the band's most trip hop oriented release, consisting of languid, looping grooves, using mostly Rhodes piano, electric guitar and scratching.

James Bernard has been producing electronic music since 1993 under many different monikers. His earliest releases were on the legendary UK record label, Rising High Records, where he was label-mates with artists like Luke Vibert, Mixmaster Morris, The Black Dog, Union Jack and Hardfloor. Some of his releases as Influx such as "Braineater" (on Sapho Records) are considered classics in the early hard trance and acid scenes, but still sound fresh today. His ambient album, "Atmospherics" (originally released in 1994) is considered by some as one of the most ground breaking albums of it's time.

One of the finest pop albums of its time, Walls Have Ears remains one of many overlooked gems from the new wave era. This mysterious trio wrote pure and unabashed pop songs heavily influenced by the '60s and '70s and dressed them up in '80s clothing. Guitars float and shimmer above a synth foundation, allowing vocal harmonies (and some bits of brass) to roam freely in and out of each song. The haunting "Say You Will" is drop-dead gorgeous with its acoustic guitar riff and pained vocals. "Yo-Yo" could have been a massive hit with its classic hook bouncing around the room. "Remember Me and You," "Tell Me Baby" and "Love Me Too" contain all the elements that make pop music so enchanting and enticing. When BOS get all gooey on ballads such as "Lovers," "Close to Me" and "Photograph," the effects are mesmerizing. An album to love and embrace your whole life through. – AllMusic Review by Stephen Schnee

It’s hard to believe that Reflections is Hannah Diamond’s debut album, after her role in reshaping pop as part of PC Music. Reflections is home to some of the most touching songs about fractured relationships you’ll hear on planet pop. It’s Hannah Diamond through and through: soaring, skewed dance-pop production – all songs produced by A. G. Cook – paired with her frank approach to songwriting. That’s the universal beauty of a Hannah Diamond song; you know exactly what she’s singing about, and you’ve undoubtedly felt it too.

The soundtrack feature the score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the music of Jon Batiste and features a duet performance of the 1960's Soul classic "It's All Right" (originally by The Impressions) by Celeste and Batiste. Disney and Pixar’s feature film “Soul” introduces Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher with a serious passion for jazz music. The story is particularly relatable to the artists behind it. For Jamie Foxx, who lends his voice to Joe, it begins with jazz. “Like Joe, I hear music in everything,” said Foxx. “When you’re a jazz artist, man, you talk a little different: ‘Hey, cat!’ I got a chance to go to a few jazz fests and meet Herbie Hancock, Chick Correa—hang out with those guys. They have a way of talking, a way of dressing—everything funnels toward their music, toward the jazz."

Introspectives (1995). When grandmasters take over control, everything will be okay. In Aural Float, the masterminds behind Elektrolux, at this time, show it all. In cooperation with Pascal F.E.O.S, Alex Azary and Gabriel Le Mar have created a piece of vinylized ambience which documents their extended excursions to extraterrestrial sound-spaces. As "Introspectives", the title of the album already indicates, the heads behind Elektrolux demonstrate into which musical territories they will take their listeners in the future. And those territories promise to be far out…
